Learn different ways to sign "dog" in American Sign Language (ASL). You can quickly finger spell it or do a quick finger snap. Another variation is slapping the side of your thigh with an open hand. You can also combine a slap and a snap. Personally, I prefer the leg slap version as it is easier to use and catches babies' attention. Finger snapping can be challenging for babies and may be confused with the sign for milk.
